Between a rock and a hard place, 2018

PRESENTED BY 156 Studio Projects in Toronto, Ontario.
In collaboration with Secret Tea Time.

In "Between a rock and a hard place", the artist explores the idea of transition through sound landscapes hidden within a series of ceramic vessels. Like leaning our ears affectionately against a conch shell, the artist allows us to carefully and consciously listen to transition slowly unfolding. What forms and sounds shape our transitions, if only we listened to them more closely? A transition is neither kind nor gentle: it is brute and honest, upheaving and unforgiving. Most of all it is loving, for every transition carries us into a new landscape made of all facets of us."
